Challenge Group joins TIACA and focuses on sustainability

Challenge Group has joined The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and adopted sustainability as its initial focus point.

The air cargo conglomerate consisting of airlines, handling, trucking, leasing and maintenance divisions has brought its individual businesses under one brand and it seeks to offer its expertise to the air cargo community.

It joined TIACA as a non-voting member in October 2021 and having already participated in the association’s sustainability working group, Challenge Group is working on its own sustainability strategy using guidelines issued by TIACA last year.

TIACA launched its Sustainability Awards in 2019, which has become an annual event, and it regularly surveys and updates members on the progress made in its three key sustainability pillars of People, Planet, and Prosperity.

Yossi Shoukroun, CEO of Challenge Group says: “I believe that, as a group, we can bring valuable input to the broad TIACA community: a motivated community that has a clear direction for the future of our industry. There is strength in numbers, and it is this strength that will drive change.”

Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA adds: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome the Challenge Group to the TIACA membership family. They have a wonderful vision for sustainable growth and transformation, and we are excited about supporting the Group in their journey.”

Challenge Group consists of airlines CAL Cargo Airlines, Challenge Airlines BE, Challenge Airlines MT and Challenge Air Cargo.

It also has ground handling company Challenge Handling and a road feeder network, Challenge Logistics, both operating from Liege, Belgium.

Challenge Aviation is its aircraft and parts leasing division and Challenge Technic provides line maintenance services.
