Kuehne + Nagel opens new CDG air logistics hub

Kuehne + Nagel has opened its new air logistics hub in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport’s Cargo City.

The hub, which can handle 300 airfreight pallets a week, has a processing area 2.5 times larger than the previous hub and has direct access to runways.

It has TAPA-FSR A security certification and the flight network at CDG gives the facility access to new markets in the high-tech, luxury, aerospace, industrial and automotive sectors.

Healthcare cargo capacity has increased with 4,500m2 of cold rooms and temperature-controlled zones.

The healthcare area is GDP and CEIV-compliant as part of Kuehne + Nagel’s HealthChain certification.

The hub focuses on R&D and personalised medicine, supported by QuickSTAT, a Kuehne + Nagel company developing personalised supply chain planning.

Sustainability was built into the hub with 1,332 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof, saving approximately 26.4 tons of CO2 per year and the hub has been awarded BREEAM Excellent certification.

Heiko Schuhmacher, Regional Head of Air Logistics Europe, says, “The inauguration of the new hub, located at one of Europe’s best-connected airports, reinforces Kuehne + Nagel's leading position in air logistics and strong ambition on our healthcare focus, as part of our Roadmap 2026.”
