LLC Moscow Cargo was announced the winner of the Eurasian award in the field of aviation marketing for 2019 under the special nomination "For the launch of the most modern and high-tech cargo air terminal in the Eurasian region". The award ceremony took place in July at Krasnoyarsk during the Eurasian forum for airfreight development.
The award committee included representatives drawn from the professional community; it included those with leadership experience within the aviation industry, government agencies, industry public institutions and other associations. The selection of experts was primarily based on an assessment of the performance of cargo operators and the technical characteristics of cargo terminals.
From the 2018 results, Sheremetyevo was recognised as the leader in cargo turnover amongst UIA airports, with the airport's share in the market totalling 63%. The new cargo complex, Sheremetyevo Moscow Cargo, with its 42,300 square metre area, is the largest in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe. The level of technical equipment within the complex corresponds with the leading cargo terminals in the world. For storage and handling Moscow Cargo uses a unique automated system from Loedige, which allows a reduction in processing time and the supply of goods. This also improves safety and renders more transparent the process of moving cargo along the route.
