
Tonnage in the east increased by 19% and the west was up 20% while the UAE registered 15% growth.
Special products helped increase tonnage with the IATA CEIV-certified PharmaLife product registering 9% growth supported by specialised cool dollies and breathable thermal blankets to minimise exposure to adverse conditions outside of temperature-controlled cool rooms.
SecureTech, which was launched in February this year to transport consumer electronics, registered 95% revenue growth due to demand for new mobile phones and devices.
Etihad Cargo was also awarded IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries (Li-batt) certification, making it the third Middle Eastern airline to earn the certificate.
To cater for e-commerce growth, Etihad Cargo implemented strategic initiatives including dedicated charters for the express transportation of e-commerce goods with contracts running until December 2024.
