EVA Air renews IATA CEIV Pharma certificate

EVA Air and Evergreen Airlines Services (EGAS) have renewed their IATA CEIV Pharma certificates for air and ground services at Taoyuan International Airport.

The Taiwan-based airline started working on CEIV Pharma certification in 2018 when it formed a team of experts to work with temperature-controlled container providers to supply containers for different temperatures.

It obtained the certificate in 2021 and has registered an average 30% annual growth rate for pharmaceutical cold chain transportation, which EVA expects to continue with the renewed certificate, benefiting Taiwan’s biotech industries.

The airline is the only airline based in Taiwan and one of the few in the world to have certification for both air and ground handling operations.

The IATA CEIV Pharma certificate has to be renewed every three years and companies must invest in upgrading facilities or building new ones and training staff so they comply with standards.
