Former CEO of Worldwide Flight Services, Olivier Bijaoui has joined the TIACA Hall of Fame for his work guiding handling agents towards becoming global companies.

Bijaoui turned small cargo handling company SFS, now Worldwide Flight Services, into the world’s largest ground handling company, and was Executive Chairman, President and CEO between 2004 and 2016.

When he left, WFS had 18,000 employees, was present at 188 airports in 22 countries, serving 300 airlines, handling 4 million tonnes of cargo and 50 million passengers per annum.

Since leaving, Bijaoui has been President and owner of OB Invest and has recently joined Alliance Ground International as an advisor to help it expand outside of North America.

Sebastiaan Scholte, Chair of TIACA’s Chairman’s Council, says, “Olivier Bijaoui is a great recipient for the 2022 Hall of Fame Award. He has shown leadership and drive that has catapulted the ground handling sector into the global air cargo arena. It is amazing how he has built a global handling company from scratch. We look forward to formally inducting him into the Hall of Fame in Miami.”

This year’s Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held at the Air Cargo Forum in Miami, inducting both Bijaoui and 2020 Hall of Fame Award Winner, Larry Coyne.
