ACL Airshop opens new manufacturing centre in Greenville, US

ULD manufacturer and solutions provider ACL Airshop will today host the opening ceremony for its new manufacturing centre in Greenville, South Carolina.

The ribbon-cutting event, entitled “A Celebration of Aerospace Growth in South Carolina,” highlights the global growth of the company, which has doubled in size in the past three years.

Its ULD fleet has doubled from under 25,000 units to over 50,000 thanks to aggressive internal investment – and continues to grow steadily. It has also doubled its service footprint to more than half of the world’s Top 100 air cargo hub airports. ACL Airshop’s supply chain for manufacturing resources, meanwhile, stretches from Germany to China and Taiwan, now bolstered by the new South Carolina production centre.

Government officials and business leaders from the region will attend the celebration, alongside employees and families, suppliers, and industry partners.

Steve Townes, CEO of ACL Airshop and Founder of Ranger Aerospace, said: “We could have outsourced this entire expansion to lower cost overseas locations, but instead we made a deliberate decision to build and grow right here at home. All around the world, we are continuously improving ACL Airshop with better capacity, upgraded facilities, new technology and logistics systems offerings, and other enhancements for our many scores of airline customers.”

ACL Airshop recently won the 2019 “Top Workplaces” award as a strong employer.
