AEI to convert 737-800 for EgyptAir

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has signed a contract with EgyptAir to provide a Boeing 737-800SF freighter conversion.

The aircraft will be modified at the authorised AEI conversion centre, Commercial Jet, based in Miami, Florida, with work starting in October 2022.

Captain Amr Abu El-Enein, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company says: “We will continue to increase the size of our fleet and open new freighter markets in the coming years to meet the growing needs of the local market in terms of exporting goods abroad, especially crops.”

The airline owns 3 Airbus A330-200Fs and cargo operations have grown during the pandemic with new routes being opened to transport medical items and agricultural products.

The AEI B737-800SF has a capacity of 24 tonnes and has 11 full height container positions and a position for an AEP/AEH.
