American Airlines partners with Airlink to fly aid to Haiti

American Airlines Cargo is partnering with non-profit humanitarian organisation Airlink to transport critical aid to Haiti.

Haiti is suffering from a cholera outbreak and the illness is being worsened by civil unrest, making it difficult to get supplies to the Caribbean nation.

The airline is carrying more than 55 tons of medical supplies from Europe to Miami, where they will be staged for distribution in Haiti.

The aid includes personal protective equipment, clean water filters, nebulizers, blood tubes and other sterile items to help fight the crisis.

Greg Schwendinger, President of American Airlines Cargo, says, “We’re proud to partner with Airlink to make a positive impact on the world. At American, our mission is to care for people on life’s journey, and we are honoured to play a role in transporting critical goods to the people and places they are needed most.”
