Atlas Air orders four Boeing 777 Freighters

Atlas Air Worldwide has ordered four new Boeing 777 Freighters to meet fast-growing demand in the e-commerce and express sectors.

The first 777-200LRF is expected to be delivered in November this year, with the other three following in 2023.

Atlas Air already has 14 777Fs that it operates or provides to customers on a dry-lease bases through its Titan Aviation Leasing subsidiary.

John Dietrich, President and CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide says: “These new aircraft will advance our strategic growth plan as we continue to capitalise on strong demand for dedicated airfreight capacity. This investment aligns with our disciplined approach to deploying capital and meets our strict return guidelines when investing in aircraft. We anticipate this transaction will drive strong earnings and cash flows, and enhance shareholder value.”

Ihssane Mounir, Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing at Boeing says: “These new 777 Freighters provide Atlas with more capacity, fuel efficiency and operational flexibility for its customers. As air cargo demand continues to grow, we're confident that the efficiency, capability and flexibility of our freighter family will meet customer needs now and in the future.”
