AviaAM to redeliver third 737 converted freighter

AviaAM Leasing is expecting to redeliver its third converted freighter later this month as it moves forward with its commitment of having 25 conversions in the next four years.

Its first Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversion was with a Boeing 737-800 acquired in March this year, and a second 737-800 conversion completed at the Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company (GAMECO) facility in Guangzhou, China.

The second aircraft then went to FL Technics' Kaunas facility for further maintenance and painting, and it will be used by Icelandic airline Bluebird Nordic.

A third 737-800 is being converted by Boeing at the Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co (STAECO) facility in Jinan, China, and redelivery is planned for the end of this month.

Tadas Goberis, CEO and Chairman of AviaAM Leasing says: “The Passenger-to-Freighter conversion project is an exciting opportunity for AviaAM Leasing. This ongoing complex job will aid in our efforts to expand our presence in the air cargo market over the coming years.”
