CEVA operating full contract logistics for Under Armour UK

CEVA Logistics has completed a Zero Defects Start-up for the full omni-channel distribution of Under Armour’s sports apparel products in the UK.

This milestone follows CEVA’s implementation of Under Armour’s UK e-commerce business as part of an ongoing, multi-year contract.

Some 200 employees now operate from CEVA Logistics’ 75,000-square-foot distribution centre in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, dedicated to handling Under Armour’s UK e-commerce, retail and wholesale fulfilment and distribution.

These facility is one of the most modern and operationally efficient omni-channel sites in the country. Onsite technology and automation solutions include a Master Pick Tote solution, AGV-enabled lift trucks, multiple storage media (including Storeganizer for returns) and the latest in warehouse management technology. These and other innovations allow Under Armour to significantly accelerate the B2C and B2B fulfilment time, while reducing potential errors.

The location of the distribution centre enables Under Armour to improve its wholesale customer experience, decreasing lead time from ten working days to 2-3 working days.

Chris Walton, Managing Director UK and Ireland for CEVA Logistics, commented: “Since signing the initial contract with Under Armour last July, we successfully managed their e-commerce channel through cyber week and the peak trading season, delivering a Zero Defects Start-up.

"Sustainability was one of the key decision factors when Under Armour chose to base its inventory, previously located in the Netherlands, closer to UK. consumers. Our teams have also worked closely together to put in place a sustainable packaging model, with the aim of eliminating plastic from the delivery chain wherever possible.”
