Delta Cargo launches Sustainable Aviation Fuel programme

Delta Cargo has launched a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) programme, helping customers reduce their environmental footprint.

The programme is certified and audited by Ruby Canyon Environmental and the SAF is International Sustainability and Carbon Certification certified.

It offers flexible purchase options to make it easier for customers to purchase SAF and meet sustainability goals.

Bio-based jet fuel production is a renewable process and can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 75% compared to fossil fuel.

The SAF programme for cargo supports Delta’s path to Net Zero, with the airline committing to carbon neutrality from March 2020 onwards, balancing emissions with investments to remove carbon across global operations.

Delta is a member of the First Movers Coalition, spearheaded by the US State Department and the World Economic Forum to accelerate and scale the development of breakthrough technologies and fuels for sectors like aviation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
