GHI Conference Cargo Zone update

Handling Talk
Preighters and COVID vaccine delivery will be under discussion at GHI’s Cargo Zone.

The challenges of handling preighters and the industry’s role in delivering a future COVID-19 vaccine will be under discussion at GHI’s Cargo Zone in Copenhagen this November.

The Cargo Zone will form a dedicated area on the showfloor at GHI’s 22nd Annual Conference and focus on a market that has enjoyed an enhanced status during the pandemic.

Confirmed Cargo Zone speakers include business leaders at Avianca Cargo, Hermes, TIACA, Unilode and Menzies Aviation. See the full Cargo Zone workshop programme here.

The Zone will comprise a dedicated workshop theatre, exhibitor stands offering cargo relevant products and services and enhanced networking opportunities between pax/cargo operators.

Cargo capacity continues to lag behind demand according to latest IATA data. Industry leaders have cited a global capacity crunch, with inadequate ground infrastructure to move product efficiently.

The COVID crisis has seen many airlines hastily converting passenger aircraft to carry cargo in hybrid aircraft coined preighters.

Max Gosney, GHI Chairman said: “A poll during a GHI Webinar last month found 85% of industry stakeholders were actively looking to grow their cargo business in the next six months. But they also said they were struggling to make the right supplier connections to achieve this goal.

“GHI’s Cargo Zone aims to close the gap by bringing pax and cargo communities together to pursue new business opportunities for all.”
