JD starts charter flights to London Heathrow

JD has started European charter flights with services between Hefei Xinqiao International Airport and London’s Heathrow Airport.

Services started on Tuesday 8 September with three flights a week using a Boeing 747-400F operated by Air Moldova, mainly moving e-commerce products and general cargo.

With warehouses in Shanghai and Shenzhen, JD says the freighter route will deliver products from manufacturing regions in northern, eastern and southern China, reaching European customers in as little as 48 hours.

JD has also opened a self-operated warehouse in the UK, adding to its network European network in Germany and Poland.
