Lufthansa Cargo and EgeTrans complete 100th charter flight

Lufthansa Cargo and EgeTrans Internationale Spedition have completed their 100th preighter flight since launching a charter agreement in winter 2020.

Airbus A340s and sometimes A350s from Lufthansa Passage have been used exclusively for EgeTrans, providing around 37 tons of capacity per flight from Frankfurt to Chicago.

The flights have carried agricultural machinery and cargo for the automotive, commercial vehicles, and hydraulics industries, transporting them from Baden-Wurttemberg to the US.

At peak times such as summer 2021, up to five preighter flights were operated a week, including roundtrips.

Praising all at Lufthansa who made the flights possible, Achim Martinka, Vice President Germany of Lufthansa Cargo says, “We are proud to have established such a reliable and resilient process chain for the respective freight requirements in these special times. In the future, we will continue to focus on using and offering synergies and capacities in the best possible way for our customers.”

Thanking the teams at Lufthansa, Florian Naujocks, Air Cargo Manager at EgeTrans adds, “We are proud that the close cooperation with the Lufthansa Cargo Team Stuttgart is not exclusively limited to the freighters, but that we also have cargo capacities available three times a week on both freighters and passenger aircraft bound for Chicago at Lufthansa Cargo.”
