The DG AutoCheck is a platform for accepting dangerous goods shipments, letting airlines, ground handlers and freight forwarders automatically check the compliance of the Shippers’ Declaration of Dangerous Goods against relevant regulations.
MASKargo started using DG Autocheck at its Advanced Cargo Centre on 1 September. On average, MASKargo handles 50,000 tonnes of dangerous goods annually and the new tool will help process ever more complex and sophisticated products.
Nick Careen, Senior Vice President for Operations Safety and Security at IATA says: “The air transport industry handles more than 1.25 million dangerous goods shipments on an annual basis. The adoption of modern and harmonised standards is essential to facilitate safe, secure and efficient operations, particularly in relation to carriage of dangerous goods.”
