Qatar Airways Cargo renews with Havas

Qatar Airways Cargo has renewed its ground handling agreement with Turkish ground services provider Havas for five more years.

Havas signed an agreement to provide Qatar Airways Cargo with cargo and warehouse services until the end of 2025. Under the renewed agreement, Havas will continue to provide both services at Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya airports, as well as cargo services at Adana airport. Havas will also continue to provide bonded cargo service between its warehouses when handling the carrier's import and export cargo.

Havas General Manager Mete Erna stated, "We are very glad to extend our service agreement with Qatar Airways Cargo to create synergy on cargo and warehouse services. Since the past two years, we have been using reefer trucks designed for the equipment fleet of our warehouses to transport special cargo such as medicine, food, etc. in Turkey. Havas is the first company in ground handling services in Turkey to use reefer trucks.

"Furthermore, we doubled the size of our warehouse at Istanbul airport with an approximate investment of €11m, while also investing in several brand-new technologies and hardware at our warehouse facilities at Ankara, Izmir and Antalya airports covering a total area of 20,457 square metres and set an example in the sector. We will continue to increase the efficiency of our operations and adopt innovations to contribute to the success of all our business partners," he said.
