Skyport handles charter flight for Bamboo Airways

Skyport has handled the first charter flight of the year operated by Bamboo Airways, flying cargo from Hanoi to Prague.

Carrying about 15 tonnes of cargo in the hold, the Boeing 787-9 flew from Hanoi to Prague on 18 January and was offloaded overnight by Skyport staff and reloaded with seven tonnes of export cargo before departing the following day.

Since 2019, Skyport has been the contracted partner for Bamboo Airways at Prague Airport when the pair signed a contract to cooperate on scheduled services.

So far, ad hoc charter services have been operated but the Bamboo Airways plans regular flights when conditions allow.

Dang Tat Thang, CEO of Bamboo Airways says: “With the valuable support of Skyport, Bamboo Airways has had a very successful flight to Prague and we strongly believe that this flight will be a stepping stone for a fruitful partnership between Bamboo Airways and Skyport in the future.”

David Adamek, CEO of Skyport says: “As the chosen handling partner for Bamboo Airways at Prague, Skyport is ready to support the airline in its aim to bridge the gap between Vietnam and the Czech Republic with the provision of both scheduled and ad hoc services, such as this charter flight.”
