Spirit Air Cargo Handling re-certifies in IATA CEIV Pharma

Spirit Air Cargo Handling, part of the SAS Group, has completed IATA CEIV Pharma re-certification in Scandinavia.

The independent cargo handling company has been re-awarded IATA CEIV Pharma certification in Oslo and Stockholm, after Copenhagen received its re-certification back in January 2021, thus completing certification for all its Scandinavian hubs.

The IATA audit confirmed that Spirit’s management, quality systems, policies, procedures, and processes, as well as facilities are in compliance with the specific requirements for handling temperature-sensitive shipments. This reaffirms Spirit Air Cargo Handling’s ability to handle air cargo shipments containing Covid-19 vaccines as well as other pharmaceuticals and medical equipment that require temperature-controlled handling and storage.

“We are very proud for having received the IATA CEIV Pharma certificate at our three major hubs for the second time”, commented Kjetil Håbjørg, EVP Airline Services, SAS. “Once again, we have achieved one of the highest standards recognised by the pharmaceutical and the air cargo industry.”

”By obtaining this certification, we demonstrate, that we are a reliable and important partner in the handling of time- and temperature sensitive shipments. Furthermore, we have proven that we are still in full compliance with the expected handling standards for pharmaceutical shipments, and I know that our teams in all three countries are constantly working on improvements to the benefit of our customers.”
