TIACA to host start.hub at air cargo forum

Start-ups will be given the opportunity to network and exhibit at the TIACA air cargo forum with the launch of the start.hub.

The start.hub will be launched at the ACF and transport logistic Americas 2022 show in November in Miami hosted by The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and Messe München.

It has been developed to help start-ups exhibit and network with the air cargo and logistics industries, offering an all-inclusive exhibitor package.

It is open to companies presenting a logistics-related product or solution, employing 75 or fewer people, that was founded on or after 1 January 2014, and there are no restrictions on sales and earnings.

The start.hub follows the success of the Innovation Journey during the Executive Summit in San Francisco earlier this year.

Steven Polmans, Chairman of TIACA, says, “We knew then that this could not be a one off and innovation needed to be incorporated into our events going forward. The launch of the start.hub logistics in Miami is yet another step toward our vision for air cargo and we are excited that Edmonton International Airport, which has such a focus on supporting innovative start-up businesses will be the first host.”

Edmonton International Airport is hosting the start.hub; Mammen Tharakan, Director, E-Commerce, Cargo and Aviation Real Estate at the airport says exploring new and innovative ideas is important to the airport having supported drone services, hosting the world’s largest solar farm at an airport, and partnering with clean fuel technology companies.

He says, “Not only do we support the movement of people and goods, but we also appreciate the critical role that cargo plays in our economy and social landscape, and we are proud to support others as they do the same.”
