Volga-Dnepr Group has operated two flights carrying aid to Haiti following the earthquake on 14 August.

Over 110 tonnes of aid including tents, water purifiers, mobile kitchens and general cargo were transported on two charter flights to Port-au-Prince on an AN-124-100 and an IL-76TD-90VD.

The two flights went from Madrid and Liege airports with cargo from several United Nations agencies, national and International Red Crosses and international non-governmental organisations supported by several European Governments. Volga-Dnepr says it plans to operate more flights to the region.

Pauli Immonen, Deputy Director Healthcare and Humanitarian Logistics at Volga-Dnepr Group says: “Thanks to aligned and long-standing relations with freight forwarders, brokers, NGOs, humanitarian agencies, airport authorities and other stakeholders we guarantee a fast and seamless response and organise life-saving air transport to almost any region or country of the world.”
