SpiceFresh, the new perishables freighter service belonging to SpiceJet, has begun operating.
The first flight, comprising a consignment of fruit weighing 1,000 kilogrammes, was delivered to Hong Kong and Dubai, having been loaded in Guwahati, Assam.
SpiceFresh is specialising in the carriage of fruit and vegetables to both domestic and international markets. For the future, the company will service Hong Kong with daily freighter flights that will be split between Guwahati and Kolkata.
SpiceFresh has added that it sees great potential for the export of agricultural products from north-east India and that this service should be a key factor in boosting the agricultural economy of that particular region.
