Cargo a star performer as Qatar Airways delivers record financial results

Qatar Airways Group has announced the strongest set of results in its history for the 2024/25 financial year. They include a +17% rise in cargo revenues, its best performance in this business segment since pre-pandemic 2019.

Across the 12 months, Qatar Airways Cargo transported over 1.5 million tonnes (chargeable weight), making it the world’s largest freight carrier with a 7.11% market share.

The year saw significant investment in cargo fleet expansion and network enhancements which enabled new freighter services to airports in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Vienna, Kuala Lumpur and London. In Asia, frequencies were added to Hong Kong and China.

Qatar Airways Group profits for the financial year, including cargo, catering and Qatar Duty Free, reached QAR7.85bn (US$2.15bn), an increase of more than QAR1.7bn (US$0.5bn) against the prior year.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said: “These record-breaking results are a testament to the hard work, skill and dedication of teams across all of Qatar Airways Group. I know that none of the outstanding results we’re announcing today would be possible without our people – more than 55,000 of them across the globe – and it’s our focus on fostering that talent, which has been a core focus of our Qatar Airways 2.0 strategy.

“We have also successfully implemented strategic partnerships throughout the industry, in order for the Group to remain agile in the face of ever-shifting world events, whether political, economic or environmental.”
