Liège airport's pop-up handling facility

Over the Easter weekend Liège airport unrolled an initiative to cater to the need for greater airport capacity.

On April 11 Liège airport and its partners implemented a pop-up handling facility to increase the airport's capacity for the unloading, storage and processing of medical supplies in the ongoing battle against COVID-19.

Housed in building B24, the pop-up handling facility has gone live, and is part of the agreement reached between the station and Volga/AirBridgeCargo; the Russian group will be leasing warehouses at the airport in two separate phases. This marks plans on the part of ABC towards making Liège its European hub.

The facility should remain in use until May 31, according to the airport authorities, and WFS is the ground handler involved in the scheme.
