Steven Polmans re-elected Chairman of TIACA

Associations Appointments
Steven Polmans has been re-elected as Chairman of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), joined by Vice-Chairs Roos Bakker and Emir Pineda.

Polmans has been Chairman since 2019 and will serve another 2 year term following the TIACA Trustees agreeing to revise bylaws to extend Board mandates, with TIACA saying the third term will ensure stability of leadership and a long-term focus at the Board level.

In his time as Chairman, membership has grown and industry programmes such as BlueSky have been launched.

The changes in bylaws require 2 Vice Chairs who will work alongside each other and the Chair to ensure a smooth transition when the time comes to elect a new Chair.

Roos Bakker of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Emir Pineda of Miami International Airport will serve as co-Vice-Chairs and take the roles of Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Commenting on his re-election, Polmans thanked the Board for their support, said working with outgoing Vice Chairman Sanjeev Gadhia was a pleasure and that he looks forward to working with the new Vice-Chairs.

He says, “Both the industry and our association have a lot on their respective plates and I am dedicated to ensuring that we continue to serve our members and the industry effectively. I eagerly anticipate carrying out the directives set forth by the Board, maintaining a focus on membership, advocacy, partnerships, knowledge, sustainability, and events.”
