TIACA Board appoints new member

The International Air Cargo Association has appointed Eng. Naif Ali Al Abri, CEO of TRANSOM, to its Board of Directors.

Al Abri brings a decade of industry experience in high-level operational roles in engineering and project management with TRANSOM, Oman Air and Oman Power and Water Procurement Company.

Al Abri is the new CEO of TRANSOM, which encompasses TRANSOM Handling, TRANSOM SATS Cargo, TRANSOM Catering, Muscat Duty Free, Majan Lounge and TRANSOM Hospitality.

“TIACA’s vision and our active contribution to the association’s agenda is in line with the Sultanate's National Air Cargo Strategy and Oman's vision 2040 for the future development of the air cargo sector, which is flourishing in terms of new facilities and volume growth,” commented Al Abri.

Speaking on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and air cargo’s vital role during this time, Al Abri added, “TIACA has done remarkable work during this period to highlight the essential role of air cargo, in co-operation with relevant international organisations, especially ICAO and IATA as well as government entities. I am honoured to join the Board of Directors and I look forward to working closely with all members to ensure TIACA reaches new horizons.”
