Bamboo Airways picks ECS Group as GSSA

Vietnamese leisure airline Bamboo Airways has picked ECS Group as its GSSA to develop cargo operations across Asia Pacific.

Globe Air Cargo will represent Bamboo Airways, which launched in 2019, in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Bamboo Airways launched twice-weekly Airbus A321 services between Saigon and Singapore on 29 April, which increased to three a week on 24 May, and twice-weekly flights between Hanoi and Singapore on 4 May.

From Singapore, the main commodities are electronic goods, raw materials, spare parts, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce.

Heading from Vietnam to Singapore, cargo includes perishables, electronics, and ready-made garments.

Jilin Chiam, Country Manager Singapore of Globe Air Cargo, says, “With cargo services to popular destinations such as Saigon, Narita, and Melbourne, the partnership with Bamboo Airways gives us new opportunities to bridge the network across the region and offer more solutions to our customers.”

Noor Azizah, Regional Vice President Asia Pacific (excluding China) of ECS Group, adds, “We are honoured to act as GSA for Bamboo in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Operations to and from Singapore have already begun, and we can't wait to start promoting the rest of the region.”
