Amazon's latest cargo facility

With an investment exceeding US$100m, Amazon's latest air cargo facility is nearing completion at Lakeland Linder International airport.

Sited on 47 acres of airport land, the facility will be creating jobs for up to 1,000 staff. With a main building encompassing three storeys and comprising nearly 300,000 square feet, this warehouse will have a significant impact on the local community - and its site, in the middle of Tampa and Florida, represents a big geographical advantage. State-of-the-art technology, including robotics, will be a feature of this new building.

In addition to the business of the facility, the leased land granted by the airport should also generate several million dollars' worth of revenues on an annual basis.

“This is a gigantic game changer for this airport,” reported the airport's Director, Gene Conrad.
