Lufthansa Cargo and Brussels Airlines Cargo start co-operation

Freight capacities of Brussels Airlines flights, departing from September 2018, are now bookable with Lufthansa Cargo.

The marketing of Brussels Airlines’ cargo capacities by Lufthansa Cargo was originally announced back in spring. Advance bookings for flights departing from September 1, 2018 are now open, with the pre-booking period a maximum of 30 days. Cargo booked through this means flies on Lufthansa Cargo air waybills, recognisable by the number sequence 020.

With the marketing of the cargo capacities of Brussels Airlines, the cargo holds of ten wide-body and 43 narrow-body aircraft will be added.

The new co-operation gives Brussels Airlines Cargo customers access to Lufthansa Cargo's worldwide route network of around 300 destinations in over 100 countries. For Lufthansa Cargo customers, the route network will be supplemented by 15 additional destinations in West, East and Central Africa, directly from Brussels, including Banjul in Gambia, Freetown in Sierra Leone, and Kigali in Rwanda, amongst others.

“Thanks to the close co-operation between Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo, our customers benefit from numerous new connections and destinations. We are very pleased that our worldwide network is thus becoming even more comprehensive and stronger,” said Dorothea von Boxberg, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Product and Sales at Lufthansa Cargo.

Brussels Airlines is the fifth passenger airline whose cargo capacities are marketed by Lufthansa Cargo, with existing carriers including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings and SunExpress.

In addition, Lufthansa Cargo operates 17 cargo aircraft and uses freighter capacities of Aerologic, a joint venture between Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express.
