Acquisition of GIL helps DSV grow

Freight Forwarding
Airfreight volumes at DSV grew by 29% in the third quarter of 2021 helped by the acquisition of Agility’s Global Integrated Logistics.

The Danish freight forwarder says airfreight has been affected by airport restrictions, high demand and limited capacity, keeping rates high.

Volumes were up 29% but taking into account the acquisition, they were in line with the market, and year-to-date, DSV was up 13%, in line with the market.

Tonnage in the third quarter was 386,702 tonnes, and just over one million tonnes year-to-date.

Airfreight revenue was 18.4bn kroner (DKK) ($2.9bn) in the third quarter, and DKK45.5bn year-to-date.

For the whole company, third quarter revenue was DKK49.5bn and DKK121bn year-to-date, and profit after tax was DKK3.1bn in the third quarter, and DKK8bn year-to-date.

Jens Bjorn Andersen, Group CEO of DSV says: “The transport markets continue to be characterised by disruption and imbalances causing extraordinary challenges for both our customers and us. Under the extraordinary market conditions, we are happy to report solid results across all divisions.”
