The Boeing 737-800SF was the most popular model with 18 deliveries, followed by 5 B737-400SFs, 2 MD-80SF series and 3 CRJ200SFs.
The 600th converted freighter was delivered in August.
Robert Convey, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AEI, says, “AEI had a solid year in 2023, yet we also understand that the narrowbody freighter market became overbuilt during the pandemic era. We have been predicting and planning for a moderation in the market over the next 12 months or so to accommodate current demand.”
The B737-800SF will be the most popular model again in 2024 with the quantity of deliveries expected to be below 2023 figures.
AEI says it will use the predicted slowdown to study freighter programmes for the B737-900 and the CRJ900.
