The services from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol via Dubai World Central will be operated using Boeing 747-400ERFs or BCFs operated by Martinair.
Flights will start on 19 September, operating three times a week then increasing to four a week when the winter schedule starts on 27 October.
The flights will leave Amsterdam on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with Monday flights for the winter schedule, offering 110 tonnes of cargo capacity and connections across AFKLMP Cargo’s network via Schiphol.
As part of AFKLMP’s network strategy, some flights have been suspended across Latin America though it will continue flying to Bogota three times a week via Miami.
Adriaan den Heijer, EVP Cargo at Air France KLM and Managing Director of Martinair says the e-commerce sector is growing in east Asia, which has increased demand for efficient and reliable airfreight services.
He says, “The introduction of this new Boeing 747 freighter service is a crucial step in adding main deck capacity to our extensive belly network. This expansion not only strengthens our freighter footprint in Asia but also offers more options and greater flexibility to our customers.”
