The programme was launched in 2018 to provide a standardised global certificate to improve animal transportation, and Air Canada was the first airline to be certified.
To be recertified, a thorough audit was conducted by IATA specialists who reviewed Air Canada Cargo’s policies and procedures.
Compliance with the IATA Live Animal Regulations was fully reviewed, so was compliance with protocols including the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
