Air Partner powers energy project in Algeria

Africa Oversized Cargo Charter
Air Partner arranged the delivery of oversized Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) from China to Algeria for a leading energy company.

The team were called by the client to urgently move the GIS Bays for a large-scale project in Algiers and sea freight was not an option due to time pressure.

Careful planning was required to move the oversized shipment with Air Partner’s Cargo team in Turkey arranging for the cargo to be trucked from the shipper’s warehouse to the airport where they worked closely with the operator to secure the necessary permits.

Two back-to-back flights were operated with the cargo being loaded into an Antonov AN-124 using the aircraft’s internal cranes.

The cargo flew from Tianjin Binhai International Airport to Houari Boumediene International Airport.

Eliska Hill, SVP of Cargo – UK & ROW at Air Partner, says, “This project really demonstrates our ability to tailor bespoke solutions for our clients. Our team are highly experienced in moving time-critical goods, for a variety of industries on a global scale. We are delighted that we were able to deliver a safe and timely solution for the client.”
