Amerijet adds 757s to its fleet

Amerijet International Airlines has added six Boeing 757s to its fleet as part of its expansion and modernisation programme.

The 757-200PCFs are suited to destinations in Amerijet’s network in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Europe, says the airline.

They join a fleet of six 767-200s and eight 767-300, bringing the total fleet to 20 aircraft.

Tim Strauss, CEO of Amerijet says: “I'm incredibly proud of our employees who worked tirelessly to bring the B757 project to fruition. These aircraft will be a wonderful addition to our fleet, giving us a platform for continued growth as we approach 50 years of continuous service from our home base in Miami, Florida.”

The 757-200PCFs are powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 engines to provide fuel-efficient operations with maximum payloads in hot and humid climates and shorter runways.

Amerijet also plans to expand with more flight crews, maintenance and technical personnel.
