ASL Aviation orders 20 Boeing 737-800BCFs

ASL Aviation Holdings has ordered 20 additional Boeing 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) as it renews its fleet.

The Dublin-headquartered company has a firm agreement for 10 with 10 more as options, bringing its total orders and commitments to 40 737-800BCFs aircraft.

The aircraft will be converted by Boeing at approved MRO facilities including STAECO in Jinan, China and Boeing’s London Gatwick Airport facility in the UK.

Dave Andrew, Chief Executive of ASL Aviation Holdings says: “This new order is an important element of our fleet renewal programme, and we are delighted to expand our partnership with Boeing on the 737-800BCF. The 737-800BCF offers increased reliability and performance, and equally its lower fuel burn reduces our environmental footprint. This is very important to ASL as an aviation group committed to environmental sustainability in aviation.”

Jens Steinhagen, Director of Boeing Converted Freighters adds: “Boeing Converted Freighters support progress towards sustainability goals by providing operators like those under the ASL Group umbrella an economical way to replace less efficient, older-generation freighters.”
