Cargo volumes have increased 144% compared to October last year when three charter flights a week were operating.
Under the agreement, Atlas Air has added an additional Boeing 747-400F to fly between Hong Kong and Santiago, Chile, bringing the total dedicated fleet it operates for Cainiao to five aircraft.
The two companies starting working together in October 2020 with three flights a week linking Hong Kong with Brazil and Chile, with Cainiao saying the number of parcels to Brazil in September 2021 increasing by 200% compared to 2020.
Cainiao also plans to open a distribution centre in Brazil to offer next-day and same-day delivery in partnership with local delivery firms.
