Atran Airlines operates 1,000th flight to Riga

Atran Airlines has operated its 1,000th flight to Riga International Airport, providing links for e-commerce between China and the Baltic.

The 1,000th flight landed on 29 September, carrying 20 tonnes of e-commerce on a Boeing 737-800BCF where it was welcomed by representatives from the airport.

Since launching services two years ago, Atran Airlines has flown 1,500 tonnes of cargo in and out of Riga.

To celebrate, the airline had a meeting with airport management to discuss further cooperation and increasing services.

Vasiliy Zhukov, Sales Director at Atran Airlines says: “Even amid the pandemic we continued supporting our customers delivering much-needed cargo to Latvia and beyond, improving our service quality and increasing total cargo carried thanks to fleet enlargement.”

Marcis Vilcans, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts adds: “The effect of attracting transit items is demonstrated by the constant increase in the number of items, which has a positive impact not only on the cargo flow of Latvijas Pasts and Riga International Airport, but also produces a substantial favourable influence on land freight transport.”
