Australia Post takes delivery of A330F

Australia Post has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330 Freighter in time for the busy Christmas period.

The A330-200P2F, operated in partnership with Qantas Freight, provides 130 tonnes of capacity each night and will initially operate between the east coast and Perth, carrying StarTrack and Express Post parcels.

Investing in new aircraft will increase overall peak capacity by 29% and the A330F produces 42% lower carbon emissions per kilogram of cargo than the Boeing 737Fs it replaces.

Commenting on the new aircraft, Paul Graham, CEO and Managing Director of Australia Post, says, “Our new A330 freighter delivers increased flexibility within our freighter fleet, creating a sustainable, long-term solution to meet growing customer demand driven by e-commerce. This new freighter also builds on our longstanding partnership with Qantas Freight, which operates our existing freighter fleet.”

He adds that the A330F will allow Australia Post to simplify and streamline services and operate more sustainably, saying, “The additional capacity of this aircraft allows us to reduce the number of aircraft we have in the air by operating on our largest volume sectors, in turn reducing our carbon footprint and supporting fast and reliable deliveries for our customers.”
