
The airline’s history with Cargo iQ started in 2014 as an associate member before leaving in 2020 then rejoining last year as a full member committed to implementing Cargo iQ’s quality standards and the aim of obtaining membership certification.
The Avianca Transformation team were assigned with enhancing the Quality Management System to achieve certification, which was achieved following an audit.
They were also recognised for their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Innovation Spirit, which both form part of the Cargo iQ Classification programme.
Laura Rodriguez, Manager Implementation & Quality Assurance at Cargo iQ, says, “We are glad to see that the Cargo iQ methodology is enabling Avianca to deliver reliable service quality within air cargo and now the company has the certification to show it.”
The Cargo iQ audit included an offline review of documentation and an online call with an external auditor.
Avianca has committed to improving processes and services by implementing Cargo iQ’s quality standards and will undertake semi-annual reviews in collaboration with the operations team to ensure that ground handling station performance is being reflected properly in the shipment planning parameters.
