BelugaXL touches down at Munich Airport

The BelugaXL has completed its first flight of the year to Munich Airport to transport Airbus A350 fuselage sections.

The unique aircraft, which is based on the A330-200F and gets its name from its whale-like appearance, was collecting the fuselage sections manufactured in Augsburg.

They were loaded onto the aircraft using a specially constructed scaffold and flown to the Airbus plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder.

The BelugaXL is planning to visit Munich Airport again on 23, 29 and 31 January, landing at midday and taking off again mid-afternoon.

The aircraft has a wingspan of almost 61 metres and a height of 20 metres.
