Bengaluru International airport, which operates Kempegowda International airport, processed 71,406 tonnes of cargo between April and July this year, equating to a 79% growth in terms of cargo air traffic movement.

Processed cargo included 6,194 tonnes of perishables and 2,300 tonnes of pharma supplies, in addition to 341 tonnes of COVID-19-related freight.
Overall, the airport authority recorded a total of 2,990 cargo air traffic movements and 38,000 international passengers during this period. In terms of international cargo, throughout was 51,728 tonnes, with domestic freight amounting to 19,678 tonnes. Of this, perishable cargo was delivered to a total of 31 international destinations.
Aside from perishables and pharma supplies, the other freight processed during this period included electronic and engineering equipment, spares and ready to wear garments.
