Cargo iQ, FIATA and ASA push for global standards

Cargo iQ has created a partnership with the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and the Airport Services Association (ASA) to set shared goals for enhancing standard practices.

The objective is to strengthen collaboration between forwarder, ground handler and airline communities by working on a global basis to achieve common standards and enhanced quality.

At Cargo iQ’s most recent board meeting, it was agreed with Stephane Graber, Director General of FIATA, and Fabio Gamba, Director General of ASA will attend Cargo iQ’s board meetings as observers and work with board members to intensify the co-operation.

Lothar Moehle, Executive Director of Cargo iQ says that the three organisations strive to improve standards, data use and processes so it is natural to work together.

He says, “We look forward to continuing the dialogue about how we can help further each other's ambitions and progress – this is the start of a strong co-operation for the future.”

FIATA represents 40,000 forwarders and logistics firms and ASA comprises of 50 members from across the aviation services industry.

The partnership will make FIATA and ASA privy to all information about Cargo iQ and what members are actively doing in respect of quality improvement.
