The new members are Fanny Chan, Head of Cargo Global Operations at Cathay Pacific Airways, and Olaf Hagelstein, SVP Global Head of Operations, Processes & Systems – Air Freight at DHL Global Forwarding.

They join Hendrik Leyssens, VP Process, Planning and Project Delivery at Emirates; Jussi Lemola, Vice President Global Operations – Cargo at Swissport; Rutger-Jan Pegels, Director Performance Management at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo; and Klaas Kurz, Director Aviation Security & Governance at Schenker, who were all re-elected to their posts.

The new Board was formally welcomed to their posts at Cargo iQ’s Working Group meeting this week in Geneva, Switzerland.

Outgoing Executive Director of Cargo iQ, Lothar Moehle, says the Board members have the knowledge and expertise to steer Cargo iQ through a year of exciting changes.

He says, “Their appointments come as we prepare to launch two major initiatives that will result in enhanced cooperation and collaboration across the air cargo chain, and with our new Executive Director Marie Seco-Köppen driving implementation.”

Marie Seco-Köppen, co-founder of Im3pact and Chair of the Cargo iQ Master Operating Plan Working Group will succeed Moehle as Executive Director next month (May 2024).

New initiatives that Cargo iQ will roll out include a Tiered Membership programme that awards bronze, silver or gold membership according to their level of implementation and conformance to reporting.

A new scorecard system open to both members and non-members will be launched to measure their own and partners’ performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) derived from Master Operating Plan milestones and data exchange between parties.

The initiatives are being piloted by the Cargo iQ Board and are expected to go live later this year.
