CHAMP gets Air Mauritius ready for ICS2 regulation

Air Mauritius has extended its partnership with CHAMP Cargosystems as it prepares to adopt the new EU Import Control 2 (ICS2) regulation.

Air cargo and mail shipments going to or via EU Member States are required to comply with the new ICS2 regulation otherwise there could be penalties or delays.

The airline is already using CHAMP’s Traxon Global Customs (TGC) solution for select countries and has expanded the contract to cover the world including the EU.

TGC can automatically provide the necessary Advance Customs Information quickly and easily, reducing the risks of delays or fines.

Continuous updates to operations will help Air Mauritius stay ahead of the curve when new customs regulations are introduced.

Laurent Recoura, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Mauritius, says, “Air Mauritius is upgrading its reservations systems to match the EU requirements in terms of customs clearance through our extended partnership with CHAMP Cargosystems. This is one of Air Mauritius initiatives to ensure we deliver the best service to our customers.”

Nicholas Xenocostas, Chief Commercial Officer of CHAMP Cargosystems, adds, “We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Air Mauritius, helping to connect the airline with the world. With Traxon Global Customs in place, Air Mauritius will have a reliable solution that will support its filing operations, regardless of the changes that come into play.”
