The new arrival, which is operated by Atlas Air, operated its first commercial flight on 25 August between Hong Kong and Chicago O’Hare with a technical stop in Anchorage.

Westbound flights between Chicago and Hong Kong fly via Seoul’s Incheon International Airport.

A second B777-200F will join the fleet in the fourth quarter to connect China with North America and a third one will arrive in 2025.

The two B777-200Fs will provide customers with seven transpacific flights a week.

Since 2022, CMA CGM AIR CARGO has operated two B777-200Fs, which are based at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, serving routes from Europe to Greater China with five flights a week to Hong Kong and four to Shanghai.

Damien Mazaudier, CEO of CMA CGM AIR CARGO, says, “This opening comes with the delivery of a third B777 Freighter, a very efficient long-range aircraft that will allow us to serve our customers on new routes across the Pacific and to respond to dynamic market conditions. This new asset also plays a key role in contributing to greater sustainability in airfreight, in line with the CMA CGM Group's ambitions.”
