CMA CGM purchases two new 777Fs

French shipping company CMA CGM Group will purchase two new Boeing 777 Freighters as it looks to expand its airfreight division.

CMA set up an airfreight division, CMA CGM Air Cargo in February this year with services starting in March.

Air Belgium operated a Airbus A330-200F for CMA, which was followed by a second one, with ECS Group acting as the GSA.

The first flight went between Liege and Chicago, followed by flights to New York, Atlanta and Dubai.

The 777F has a capacity of 102 tonnes and a range of 9,200km, with CMA saying it represents new opportunities both commercially and operationally.
