Delta and LUG renew contracts in Frankfurt and Munich

Delta Air Lines has renewed its cargo handling partnership with LUG aircargo handling at Munich and Frankfurt airports until 2027.

LUG has been providing Delta Air Lines with cargo handling services for four years in Frankfurt and for a decade in Munich.

Delta Air Lines operates daily flights to Frankfurt from Atlanta, Detroit and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport using an Airbus A330 with up to 29 tons of cargo capacity.

In Frankfurt, LUG offers direct ramp access, storage facilities, staging areas and specialised centres for medical shipments and valuable cargo.

At Munich Airport, Delta Air Lines offers daily connections from Atlanta and will launch Detroit and New York JFK services from March using a Boeing 767 with up to 20 tons of cargo capacity.

Alison Ricker, Managing Director of Global Sales at Delta Cargo, says, “For many years, LUG has reliably provided the fast and high-quality cargo handling solutions we need to run our operations in Frankfurt and Munich. Their focus on efficiency and innovation allows us to deliver first-class products in transatlantic shipping to our customers.”

Patrik Tschirch, Managing Director of LUG aircargo handling, adds, “Continuing the cooperation with Delta Air Lines in Frankfurt and Munich is an important signal and a recognition of our performance in cargo handling so far. In our future collaboration, we will continue to ensure that a strong customer focus and reliable and efficient processes remain the benchmark for our services.”
