
Through this partnership, Delta Cargo will launch a new pet transportation strategy. CarePod’s smart pet travel products and services will help Delta better monitor pets throughout the network and provide real-time updates for customers. This is in addition to the recent introduction of a staff veterinarian to the Delta Cargo team who will review policies and procedures to ensure safe and comfortable pet travel.

Delta Cargo has specially trained ground handlers who take care of the pets throughout their journey, as well as temperature-controlled holding areas and vehicles in numerous locations, overnight kenneling services, and real-time GPS tracking service for pet shipments. The new Cargo Control Centre in Atlanta also gives the airline constant visibility of all shipments, including pets.
Delta Cargo’s relationship with CarePod is the latest in a string of examples of the airline’s commitment to innovation in recent years, including RFID tracking, biometric-based self-service bag drop and automatic check-in technology. This year, Delta achieved the number six spot among other travel companies on the Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies Worldwide.
